2012, here we come!

Planning is underway for the 6th annual event.  Can you believe it - 6 YEARS!  We have a few surprises up our sleeve for this years screening, but more on that later.  In a few days we will be announcing out Call for Filmmakers and 2012 calendar.  :D

Wow, it seemed like it was yesterday, but it was actually 4 months ago! Slowly we are digitizing the films and they will be online soon.

Last nights event!

Last night's 5th annual event was amazing!  The new location was a welcome change that comfortably fit 150 people.  We served popcorn, nachos, coffee and soda along with 25 incredible original one-take super 8 films!  Thanks for everyone who came out to support this super local grassroots event.  Take a look at some photos from the event on our facebook page - 2011 event photos!

Live screening tomorrow night!

It's here!  The anticipated 5th annual LIVE screening!  We will be premiering 28 new super 8 films that have never been seen before.  See you there!

We found a location for our screening

It's been wonderful having the previous 4 year screenings at Funk-n-Waffles, but honestly we've out grown the space!  For this years event, we've got a new location planned - the event will be held in a vacant storefront in downtown Syracuse.  It's perfect for our needs and we are looking forward to fitting 150+ people in it!

Super-8 Workshop - Saturday March 5th 3pm

Syracuse Experimental will be conducting a Super-8 Workshop this Saturday, March 5th at 3pm at Craft Chemistry ( 745 N. Salina St, Syracuse, NY). If you have a Super-8 camera bring it, and if you don't we have some to play with.

Hey, do you need to schedule use of a camera? There are three cameras to loan out and weekends are filling up fast! Please refer to the calendar to see what is available and email Super8Syracuse@gmail.com to lock in your preferred time.
