You can help make the 9th event happen!

Hello!

We're anxious to kick off the Syracuse OTS8 9th event, however first we need to update our equipment before loaning it out to our participants. Since money doesn't grow on trees, we're reaching out to the general public and dear friends for help. We've created an Indiegogo campaign where you can donate as little as $1 to $50. Please support if you can! Thank you.

IN NEED OF SUPER 8 CAMERA'S

Dear Syracuse,

Hooray, plans are underway for the 2015 9th annual event, but in order for it to happen WE NEED CAMERA'S!

To ensure that this year's event is successful (and honestly do-able), we need to add two to three cameras to our loaner collection. The past few years we've had the fortune of borrowing a couple of cameras from a local filmmaker, but that option is no longer available and we are desperate! The success of this event relies on providing good equipment for our filmmakers. PLEASE HELP! If you have a Super 8 camera, or know someone who does, consider donating it to this film event. Please email donation inquires to super8syracuse@gmail.com.

Thanks y'all!

Also new this year: there will be a wine and beer cash bar (soft drinks too), as well Recess Coffee & Roastery will be selling coffee and baked goods! Naturally, they'll also be yummy free popcorn.

Film clues

This is such a tease! We've been seeing some great images on Instagram posted by filmmakers and we just had to share. Can't wait to see what these shots are all about!

Things are in motion!

We successfully completed our goal: to fill all 30 filmmaker slots for the 2014 event. We're pretty pumped for the event -- naturally it is the BEST part of this whole crazy thing. We have handful of new participants and a great deal of repeat filmmakers who are eager to top their past films. I love how secretly competitive this event has become amongst filmmakers!

Everyone starts filming this month and will wrap up in September. Good luck everyone!
